On the eve...

It's hot as hell here and hard to sleep. Lily seems to be coping rather well and is enjoying getting in the pool with us to cool down. New Year's Eve already and we've got nothing planned but relaxing. Rob is working on his sherry trifle right now so it's ready for the coming of the New Year. Hmm. Lots and lots of sherry in it. I can smell it from here.

I hope everyone is happy and content, ready to take a deep breath and let 2005 go.

Ah, the Aussie Sunday barbie

Nice clear blue sky, warm day, nice breeze. Scribe, hubby and Scribe's mom came by this afternoon for a barbie. Her mom cooked us some wonderful fried rice to go with it. Trust me, no one can do it like she can. Yum. Lily behaved and I even managed to time her feeds so I could have a glass of wine with the food. Yay.

Friday night recap... Party was nice. Great food. Free booze. Cool digs, right in the middle of the city. Hot, sticky weather. Just walking the streets in the pre-Christmas atmosphere (it's like everyone was heading to some xmas party or other) was liberating.

Been to the mother's group this morning and Lily got measured (we all have to find out one day of we measure up or not, don't we?). At 5 weeks and 3 days, little Lily-Anne is 59cm. She's probably about 11.5lb now too though she wasn't weighed this week.

What a difference a day make...

Well, besides the fact I had another 'attack' this morning that lasted three freaking hours, the day turned out not too bad as Lily's been kind enough to sleep well between her feeds. So far. I shouldn't type this at all; I'm going to jinx it, damn it. ::touches wood::

I've now got a number for a chiropractor recommended by the birth centre so hopefully he (Leon, that's his name) will find out what's going on - if it's at all muscular/skeletal. I just hope I can afford it.
