Now I know this'll sound bad but...
I did make it to Master and Commander last night.
After the movie, Scribe went, "Well, thank god, it's over."
Surprised, I asked, "Why, you didn't like it?" A non-committal grunt later from her and I was adding, "Was better than RotK for me."
She looked at me like I'd grown two heads or something. "Huh-huh. I fell asleep."
"I wish I had for RotK," I retorted, a big, fat smile on my face.
And sadly enough, I find it's the truth. Both only screened once, Master and Commander comes on top for me - by quite a margin. Sacrilege, I know, but hey... I always was a sucker for ship/submarine flicks anyway, and Peter Weir's work to boot. Paul Bettany was simply brilliant and he and Russell Crowe did a fab job with their characters' friendship. The whole cast was great, the script beautifully written, the music fitting and inspiring. Then again, I'm a sucker for cello too. :)
Anyway, before I get hit by juicy tomatoes, I'll duck off my soap box.
Ciao.

Curse this bloody FLU
This is the first time in ages that I find myself with a few minutes to spare to do an update. Actually, I probably should be answering to some tag on an RPG, but screw that. I want to do this.
I hope you folks have all been well and blessed by happy Holidays. I wish you all the best for the New Year. I'm not making any resolution this year as I never keep them. I usually accomplish what I set out to do - but never New Year resolutions. Why is that? Anyone knows?
Anyhow, planning on going to see Master and Commander tonight, hopefully a start to catching up what's been on our screens lately. Haven't been to the cinema since Return of the King. I know I need to see that flick again, but I was so displeased by it that I'm procrastinating. Hard to believe, isn't it? Well... don't get me started.
Boxing Day also doubled up as the first day of what I might start to call my flu month. That morning, I pulled myself out of bed to go see the opening showing of RotK with surprise... the start of a flu. Sore throat, fever, runny nose. And stuck in that theatre for four hours with hardly any air (it was like a sauna... nah, make that a steam room) only made matters worse. Anyhow, I spent the rest of the holidays flat on my ass due to the worse viral flu I've ever had. And it's still going. Been back at work for two weeks, flat out busy, which in itself doesn't help, and the bugger is still dogging me.
If I appear to be whinging, it also explains why I haven't been around here much... this is all I would have been posting: moanings, sneezes, groans and whinges. ;)
Best get back to work.
Take care.
