My Goddess Sign

Pinched from  ...

Feb 20 - Mar 20: OSHUN...

Mother of rivers and the bloodstream, Oshun is the Nigerian goddess of universal love and sensuality. Oshun women are as flexible and predictable as the tides, being generous with their time for themselves during an "ebb", and for others during a "flow". They "go with the flow" of their instincts in order to find inner tranquility, but can lose sight of the real world in doing so. Sometimes it would be healthy for them to stop drifting along without direction or intent, and instead to find a place where they can simply be.

Do this: Float on a still lake or pool but keep one foot anchored on the edge.

Twenty Questions

Nabbed from

1. Elaborate on your default icon

The icon is a depiction of La Chasse-galerie. The illustration itself comes from Unibroue, a micro-brewery from Québec. One of their beers (La Maudite) is themed on an old folk legend that always fascinated me...

La Maudite has a typically Québécois name that is reminiscent of the legend of the Chasse-Galerie. The legend has it that a group of lumberjacks struck a deal with the devil to fly home in their canoes, guided by Satan himself, to make it home in time for Christmas.

2. What's your current relationship status?

Married

3. Ever have a near-death experience?

No, but I've seen my life flash before my eyes a couple of times.

4. Name an obvious quality you have.

I'm direct, straightforward, rarely beat around the bush.

5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?

You Are, Pearl Jam

6. Name a celebrity you would marry.

Marry? I don't know. We envisage these people a certain way, based on characters they've portrayed or interviews and press conferences they've given. You don't get to see who they really are and to actually bind yourself to a stranger like that is a lot - even for a meme. Who I lust after? That, I can answer. :) Jason Momoa, Michael Biehn, Gerard Butler, Clive Owen, Marton Csokas, Karl Urban, Sean Bean, Tahmoh Penikett, Henry Ian Cusick... Limit it to one? At the mo, definitely Jason Momoa.

7. Who will cut and paste this first?

I have no idea... maybe .

8. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?

My first year in college, looking at my photo ID, someone thought I was a model... right.

9. Do you wear a watch?

Yes, when not on holiday. A Timex Expedition. Been bugging the hubby for a Tag Heuer for a while now but...

10. Do you have anything pierced?

Both ears; one on the left, two on the right.

11. Do you have any tattoos?

No. Would like too though, but I'm so scared of needles...

12. Do you like pain?

The fine line of pleasure and pain during sex, nearing climax, but not really any other.

13. Do you like to shop?

Yep.

14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?

Stamps this morning.

15. What was the last thing you paid for with your credit card?

Food at the grocery store.

16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?

Hubby

17. What is on your desktop background?

Ronon Dex, a wallpaper by .

18. What is the background on your cell phone?

Some Nokia srandard thing - an orange flower inside the clam and a goldfish on the outside.

19. What was the last movie you watched?

Babel at the cinema; She's Having a Baby on DVD.

20. What was the last book you read?

In the middle of ST Enterprise:Last Full Measure, Star Wars:Tatooine Ghost and Beds Are Burning, a biography of the rock band Midnight Oil. I just can't seem to finish anything lately.

Another day, another year

I don't feel any older. At least in my mind. I'm still as childish and immature as I was when I was 13. Probably not really, but it does feel like it. Physically, of course, that's another story. I feel like I'm 55. Can't believe it's only gonna get worse.

Had lovely virtual LJ presents from  here and a double-whammy from  here and below! :-)

from sgafreak, who made Sheppard and Dex sing for me - thank you!

::insert dorky smile here::

Thanks a bunch, ladies. And thanks to Ellen, Scribe, Blake,  and  for the birthday wishes off the dear ol' LJ, to the OSA, Ent_Fed,  and FCBH gangs as well. You all made me feel really special.

Hubby took me out for a romantic dinner as well last night. French restaurant and a walk on the beach and all. Tournedos au camembert, cabernet sauvignon, crepes Suzette et Irish coffees. The in-laws babysat for us.

Ah, b-movies...

Michael Biehn as Strickland

The Insatiable. Remember that vampire movie slated for last year? Don't know what's happening with it and when it will be released, but I found another trailer for it...

Meep!

Currently downloading SGA and I'm so not looking forward to watching it. Silly, I know, but it's the season finale and once I've watched it I know it'll be months before I get another SGA fix.

I mean look at that mug, could you wait for very long?

Ronon Dex, 3x19 - Vengeance

::sigh::

The in-laws have arrived Sunday morning for their annual six-week stay. Since I'm currently a stay-at-home mom, I find it harder to deal with. When I was away working afternoon/evening I wasn't getting such a heavy dose. Oh, well. I'll survive. It's just that they obviously want to see Lily so I can't stay locked up in the house all day... :)

It was hubby's birthday too on Sunday and that turned out to be a non-event since his folks were all pretty dead from the long flight and didn't feel like doing much. I guess there's always next year. No, wait. They'll undoubtedly be back right around the same time.

Got a few more grabs from that opening scene from last week...

Will try and screencap some more when I get a chance. I'd love to be able to do "Sunday" too.

Some MB schtuff

You Are Here. I'm not sure what to make of that flick and, really, it's the first I've heard of it, but it's nice to know Biehn has got a few projects coming up. And look at that pic! Even if it's very Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, he's looking damn fine.

And there's even a trailer!

Psych:9. Probably a bad horror flick but might still be worth a look.
