Last day at work today. Probably explains why I'm up at 4h40 am and can't sleep. Due to some health issues last week (repeats from something that reared its head at the back end of August), we decided to switch me to the day shift. Weird enough on its own as I haven't work days for a couple of years, but even harder due to this silly pregnancy that's messing up my body clock anyway.
Anyway, the switch wasn't enough (or too much) and I think my body is really sending me a signal to quit while I'm ahead. I was all set to ignore it but since the last episode of the 'flashing spots' happened in front of my boss, the Company is keen to listen where I'm not. SO I'm finishing two weeks ahead of schedule. Shouldn't be that big a deal, should it? The Company is even going as far as paying me until the end of the month even if I won't be working it. How great is that? So I should just be grateful, sit back and relax and get ready to become a mother. Hmm. I think that's just it; I was holding on to work like it was pushing back the inevitable.
I guess after today I'll just have to face the music for real and stop pretending this huge bulge that precedes me wherever I go is really going to pop in a few weeks to release this parasite that's keeping me awake and giving me heartburn and making me pee six times a night and uses my cervix as a trampoline every now and then.
On the flip side, until this bundle of joy drops, this finishing-work-early thing should give me more time to play in Tol Elannon for a bit and catch up on the RPGs.
