No, not the mono!

More from this saga of the flu... symptoms have changed a bit, morphed as the [supposedly] viral infection runs its course. Fair enough.

After two weeks, I can say Lily is pretty much clear today. Very good news. Yay!

R and I? Not really. Probably because we can't rest and sleep enough.

After about a week and a half of this whole charade, I went to bed last night with a really bad and worse sore throat than ever, the pain radiating in my ear. (You're not supposed to go backwards when you have the flu, right? I mean not 9-10 days into it. You should be slowly but surely getting better.) This morning I went to check in the mirror and the tonsils at the back are all covered in white puss. F-ing great. I can't even have normal flu. Tonsilitis isn't viral; it's bacterial. So I take my ass to the clinic, expecting Tonsilitis and be given a script for penicillin (plus crap for asthma since I got this goddawful hacking cough to boot). What do I get? He thinks it's Glandular Fever. (The dreaded Mononucleosis for the people across oceans.) I need that like another hole in my head. Anyway, doc gave me the penicillin anyway, in case it's just a very acute tonsilitis, he said, but wants me back first thing Monday for a blood test, the only way for an accurate diagnosis.
