We drove just short of a 900 kilometer round trip in two days and one night to go see a dish... the Parkes Radio Telescope had its open days this past weekend and we thought it would be nice to see it up close. And it was. A bit sore now with having spent so much time behind the wheel but no pain no gain, as they say. And Lily had a ball. The tour was really interesting but unfortunately we weren't allowed on the dish or all the way the focus cabin.
Later on that Saturday evening, they screened Aussie comedy The Dish under the star, right next to the read deal. We even saw the International Space Station whiz across the night sky right after sunset.In any case, we're back and I shall endeavour to catch up on my flist's posts and happenings soon... but for now, I'm getting my ass in bed. Goodnight!
