Hitchhiker from hell

Check this cat! It just amazes me. He's ever so cool.

Jelly has survived a brush with a copperhead snake, walking about for some time with the scaly creature wrapped around its neck.

Week 2 of my mom's stay. She always comes with promises of help and a chance for me to put my feet up but it always turns out way more tiring and me more busy than normal. I wonder why that is. She found a roach in the bathroom last night and refused to go to bed after that. She finally gave up around 3 am and I found her still asleep around 10h30 this morning, sleeping fully dressed on top of the bed, rolled in the doona. When I asked, she said it was so she could jump up in case of emergency...

She blames us. You should have seen the death look I got when she came to get us to go remove the vile creature. Don't get me wrong; I hate roaches. They freak me out. And if I'd find one like that, in the bathroom on the counter as I reach for my face cloth, I'd scream like a girl. But I wouldn't blame my daughter. The things live here. They simply are. They don't quite get the human boundaries we force upon them and every so often they come inside your house to check things out. More likely when it rains and last night it was bucketing it down, so...

We're off to the Blue Mountains tomorrow morning. I will be netless till Sunday night. Hope you guys have a nice weekend!
