Wai, Palya?

Trevor Jamieson

Went to the Belvoir St. Theatre tonight to see Ngapartji NgapartjiIn this intensely moving story of his family, spinifex man and master storyteller Trevor Jamieson weaves a powerful global narrative in his native tongue Pitjantjatjara. The tale of one family's displacement from the South Australian desert set against the epic sweep of the Cold War, Ngapartji Ngapartji is a passionate and stirring piece of theatre. See the Sydney Festival 2008 and the Company B websites for more info. It brought me to tears...

Could be considered a spending spree... perish the thought!

Last week, Lily, my mom and I went shopping. Can't remember exactly what for (could have been to get an aircon break as it's been damn hot and humid here) but I came across a big DVD sale. Oh, , I must have been channeling you and your bargain bins! Anyway, I found the first three seasons of Without A Trace for $14 each! The slimcases too! So my mom picked them up for me. Birthday's in February so that's that sorted. :D

Today I took Lily to another shopping mall (same reason as last week - gets expensive this warm weather!) and wandered in JB HiFi, as you do. They had this 20% discount on all DVDs. No exception. So guess what. I got myself a copy of Shoot 'Em Up. I'm so annoyed it never made it to the screen here, dammit! I just have to see it. And would have done so tonight, had I not been going to the theatre.

And while  was there, I spotted that the Babylon 5 season box sets were still at $24.98. Now I have to admit that I've been looking at those for a long, long time. Back when they were close to a 100 bucks each. So anyway, down to near 25 with an extra 20% off, I couldn't resist. I picked up seasons 3 and 4, my favourites. Hopefully, hubby won't have a heart attack when he finds out.

Oh, and I had a lovely refreshing drink tonight: Lemon, Lime and Bitters. On ice.
