Dance class for Lily is starting tomorrow but I'm not sure if we'll go back to the same place as before. It gets a bit costly. $15 admin fees and then $120 a term (whether you go or not)... plus the shoes. And of course Lily is out of both the ballet and the tap dance shoes! Checked eBay but there's not much there below $50 a pair. Not worth it when you know she'll be out of them again in three months time.
There's another spot at the end of our street that do it so I guess we'll go check there. From what I understand, you don't sign up for the term; you just show up when you want and it's like $10 a class. A little more affordable, me thinks - especially for a three year old. I just heard that the emphasis isn't so much on the dance technique but more like an expressive dancing/art thing where the kids are encourage to dance to music and follow/make beats with drums and such. It's not bad (more like Gymbaroo or something) but it's not really ballet or tap...
I've also been enrolled to babysit tomorrow late afternoon. I'll have an instant family of three for a couple of hours. ::shivers::
One of moms from mothers group is moving up to Queensland this weekend. It's sad. We had a get-together yesterday and S dropped by this morning with her daughter for a final goodbye. The girls were a bit upset. Lily doesn't quite understand she won't be seeing G as usual. She probably figures Queensland is twenty minutes away. She was also one of Lily's dancing partners. She's the third mom to move away in the last year. We might have another one in a few months - just waiting for the hubby to get his transfer with work. There won't be many left in the group. And there were all ladies I got on well with and saw more often. Oh, well. Life goes on.
Lily is sitting next to me right now as I try to rest my back, laptop where it should be. She's making meatballs with Play Doh.
Anyone heard from Jes (
I watched the first episode of Lie to Me with Tim Roth. Mmm. He's as intriguing as Hugh Laurie when House first came on - but in different ways. I'm definitely going to watch the second ep. I also watched the double first episode of Legend of the Seeker. Anyone know this one? It's shot in New-Zealand. LotR-ish in breadth and scale (and type of story too) but I haven't made my mind up yet.
I watched the second episode of BSG and I don't know what to think. It seems a very good series is going down the drain. As much as good relate to last week's episode in some way, I can't with this one at all. I was bored to death.
That's pretty much it in our neck of the wood. Got so many things to do: paperwork things and cleaning up my desk and uploading photos for family abroad (and the windows!) but it seems there's always something else to prevent me from ever getting it done... and OSA... I just can't keep up with what I want to do there. Very frustrating.
So, I guess this post ended up being one big whinge, and maybe even a rant about life and Battlestar Galactica. :)
Oh, and congrats to Rhaps and her family. What a gorgeous baby girl she brought into the world!
