In the meantime,
Went to see Terminator Salvation last week.
Sam Worthington was a wonderful surprise. Living here I'd obviously heard he was in it (up and coming Aussie that he is) but I had no idea of his onscreen charisma. Wow. His character, Marcus Wright, was the only redeeming thing in the whole film in my eyes. Well, Marcus and Blair. Blair was kickass too and played by beautiful Moon Bloodgood.
As for the rest, from day one I said Christian Bale as John Connor was a bad idea. Well, I did hope they would prove me wrong but sadly they didn't. And that damn Batman voice! Can someone tell him it makes him look like an ass? It's annoying as hell!
The movie itself, well, it's good entertainment, good effects, but if you're looking for anything deeper than that, you won't find it there. There's a pretty accurate review here. He's dead on; you don't give a flying nana for this John Connor. But contrary to that guy, I did find myself caring a little for Marcus. I just wish they had stuck with their original and intended ending. Real shame they chickened out because the whole movie feels like it's heading for it and suddenly, just before it delivers the payload, they do a one-eighty and go for a gaga finale. Meh.
And to think they cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles... Such a shame. At least that series fitted in the whole franchise. Can't say this last movie did.
I'm watching an episode of 24 at the moment because gorgeous Connor Trinneer is in it. I haven't watched that show since the middle of its third season so I don't really know where it's coming from or where it's going but damn, four-five years later and Bauer is still on the run? He's still believed by everyone, except a selected few, that he's the bad guy while he's out there getting shot at and trying to save the world? Doesn't that get old? I love Sutherland to bits but damn. And hey, Speed is in it there too! I didn't even know. ::sigh:: I do miss Speed. Was nice to see Tony again too. Actually, I tell a lie. I did watch that telemovie they did with Robert Carlyle.
I've just been told that BAG will be in Smallville next season. (Article here) Well, woopteedoo. Even Lex couldn't keep me watching that show. I doubt Mr Green will make me. But I might check one episode out, even if it won't be Derek Reese. After all, I did in the past for a Helo dose (Aw, Tahmoh!) and I just revisited 24 for another cutie who wasn't Trip Tucker. I'm such a whore. ;)
Now it's onto Criminal Minds for the episode with Alex O'Loughlin. Damn. He really plays the obsessive compulsive very well. Still, nice to see him. It's been a long while since Moonlight. I need to rent that Oyster Farmer flick...
Oh, came across this today:

A trailer for The Time Traveler's Wife. Chick flick for sure but who can say no to romance with Eric Bana?
Speaking of Bana brings me to Star Trek, which brings me to Karl Urban. He's doing a con in Sydney at the end of this month. I've never been to a con before. It's really not my scene, I don't think. I've queued plenty of times in the past for rock concerts and meeting the bands afterwards and I'm getting too old, I think, to extend all this to sci-fi/fantasy cons. What do you think? It's the Supanova Pop Culture Expo. Anyone been before? Anyone going?
I'm sure there was something else I wanted to catch up on but I can't think of it now.
Lily's bad with a cold and a nasty cough, and the weather is crap, cold and rainy. The othe bad news is my damn back. Looks like the damn shot didn't work. My back locked up three times in the past week. It's not going well at all and I'm at a loss. We tried everything else and kept that damn cortisone as a last resort. Now, it's not working so I guess I'm f*cked.
