It's been a while

Not much to report - or at least, nothing exciting. The shot for my back didn't work. That much is obvious.

It's been bad the past two weeks. Had to go back to the doctor's for Lily this week so I also made an appointment for myself. The GP lady is at a loss, doesn't know what to do. So much so that she recommended I see a Physiotherapist, something I already tried three years ago. Since she obviously didn't remember my file/background, I also told her that I had seem an Osteopath for a year, with varying degree of success but she dissed that idea and said that maybe I should try Acupuncture. I got nothing against that, it's just that I find it funny that she would shit on alternative medicines like Osteopathy to then go recommend something else along the same line. Why not a Chiropractor while we're at it? We settled on going for an MRI, if the Orthopaedic Surgeon thinks it's worthwhile. Maybe they'll find something. Still waiting to hear back from him though. It's been three days.

Since my faith in medicine is sketchy at best, I also started Tai Chi (I finally found a class, taught at a local RSL by a lady with a thick Scottish accent) and even though it could have been what triggered the last big 'lock-up', I went back this week. It felt stiff afterwards but looser the following day. Fingers crossed. Plus everyone has been telling me how Tai Chi should help my back and not make it worse... I also have a friend from the Netherlands who is sending me a DVD. She teaches QiGong and says she started with that DVD so I'm really looking forward to that. The Tai Chi lady actually starts with a sequence of QiGong called The Lotus and I find it more natural for me than the Tai Chi she follows with. We'll see.

With all that I missed last week's Supanova and The Karl. ::sigh::

Other than that, I watched the pilot for Virtuality. Damn shame it wasn't picked up. I didn't like the whole Big Brother thing idea but there was definitely something about that show. It had potential, which is what you'd expect of something coming from the guys who gave us BSG. And, AND there is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. How long has this guy been around? And where was I during all of it? LOL Now I'm catching up on New Amsterdam, just 'cause. :) And shame that was canned too. ::doublesigh::

One cool joy this past few weeks is us forking out for a widescreen TV. Yay! (how shallow does that make me? Lily, of course, is the joyest joy of all!)

Miss you, flist.

ETA: Went back to see Trek a third time. LOL! Haven't done that in years going to see a movie multiple times on the big screen. Star Wars IV and V still hold that record. :) Third time was as good as the first. Would go again if I had the dough.

Eww, poor Do. I've given up on everything that has anything to do with anyone touching me. I'm taking a medication that's banned in the U.S. and really bad for you, supposedly, but it works like a dream. I'm probably taking 20 years off my life, but at least I'll be upright and in NO pain for whatever I have left :P. I have a HUGE list of movies you might want to see too. I need to sit down and write you an email. Glad Lily's wonderful and say hi to Robbie man. Hugs and stuff.
