Arrgh!

It's near 1h30 am again and I feel like I barely made a dent today in what needs to be done. But nevermind. We'll get there eventually.

Broke my damn toe on Thursday morning. Have you tried running (hopping) around for the last of your Christmas shopping with a broken toe? ::laughs at self:: Probably not. These things have a knack of only happening to me. Hurts like a bitch too.

Anyhoo, did some tourtières (read 'large meat pies') with my mom today and tomorrow I think we're attacking some dessert/baking/meringue type things. There's also the sherry trifle left to do... The fridge and freezer are full like they've never been and there's so many presents under the tree that it seems the thing is just floating or hovering over the pile. :)

If you've never come across Top Gear and you get a chance to tune in, you should. Tonight, Rob and I got an hour to ourselves to unwind a bit and we ended laughing so much we gave ourselves sore throats, headaches and belly cramps. Here's one of the clips that nearly got me pissing in my pants. But then, maybe it's just me...

I give you Motorhome Racing!

Hitchhiker from hell

Check this cat! It just amazes me. He's ever so cool.

Jelly has survived a brush with a copperhead snake, walking about for some time with the scaly creature wrapped around its neck.

Week 2 of my mom's stay. She always comes with promises of help and a chance for me to put my feet up but it always turns out way more tiring and me more busy than normal. I wonder why that is. She found a roach in the bathroom last night and refused to go to bed after that. She finally gave up around 3 am and I found her still asleep around 10h30 this morning, sleeping fully dressed on top of the bed, rolled in the doona. When I asked, she said it was so she could jump up in case of emergency...

She blames us. You should have seen the death look I got when she came to get us to go remove the vile creature. Don't get me wrong; I hate roaches. They freak me out. And if I'd find one like that, in the bathroom on the counter as I reach for my face cloth, I'd scream like a girl. But I wouldn't blame my daughter. The things live here. They simply are. They don't quite get the human boundaries we force upon them and every so often they come inside your house to check things out. More likely when it rains and last night it was bucketing it down, so...

We're off to the Blue Mountains tomorrow morning. I will be netless till Sunday night. Hope you guys have a nice weekend!

Proof

I just wanted to show the gun holster on the Satedan...

Caps from . She's got more here.

And since nobody could find this man's identity, I thought I'd tickle your senses with his gorgeousness again anyway...

Alright, I'm off to the airport!

Just a quickie...

My mom's arriving tomorrow morning. And my sis-in-law is leaving us right about the same time. In fact, we're heading off to the airport at 6am to check SIL in, then go wait for my mom to come out and then run to the SIL's departure gate to wave her off.

My laptop BSOD'd a couple of nights ago. I still haven't risked turning it back on again. We think it's the hard disk... :(

Anyone watched SGA's Miller's Crossing episode? Am I the only one totally captivated by Ronon in jeans and wearing a shoulder holster?

That's it. Signing off. Might not be on for a while. Haven't seen my mom for over 18 months and when we parted she was about to go under the knife for her heart. Lots of catching up to do.

Take care, y'all!
